Floyd Mayweather stripped of WBO title won against Pacquiao

Mayweather poses with his title belts after defeating PAcquiao
The world champion was stripped off the welterweight world title he won in May, after beating Manny Pacquiao for failing to comply with rules. The 38 year old failed to pay the WBO a $200,000 sanctioning fee incurred for not vacating the junior middleweight title he also held. The WBO apparently has a standing rule against boxers holding world titles in multiple weight classes, and Mayweather was meant to indicate which division he would retain.
Mayweather, who still holds the WBA and WBC belts at welterweight, has until 20 July to appeal against the decision.
