Picture of Edinburgh Airport sandwich goes viral
Imagine having to pay £3.20 for the 'sandwich' above!
The picture was posted by a Reddit user (user name spambox), claiming that was what he bought from a restaurant called EAT at Edinburgh Airport for £3.20. The sandwich contains two slices of bread with a scrap of egg and a small slice of tepidly cooked bacon. The worldwide attention was enough to prompt an official response from a spokesman at the airport which reads:
"We work closely with all of our food and beverage providers to ensure we offer customers the best choice of refreshments and service. Sadly on this occasion we fell below the mark and offer our apologies to this customer. Clearly this is not the service we should be providing and we will be addressing this complaint with EAT."
