Such is the story of Kavita Kumari, an Indian teenager who has been swallowing single strands of hair for over a year.
Her addiction got so bad that she started eating other people's hair strands as hers was not enough for her. Having lost interest in food, she often vomit each time she was force-fed. Severe abdominal pain, weakness and protruding stomach led her parents to seek medical help. The doctor's examination found a firm mass in her abdomen, which the CT Scan further revealed as a five-foot long hairball.
