Starbucks to open in South Africa

Some thrilling news for coffee lovers in South Africa!
Bringing Starbucks to South Africa is another plus for Taste Holdings, which recently licensed pizza giant, Domino's in the country. This would be the first Starbucks to open in Sub-Sahara Africa. The first branch is due to open in Johannesburg in 2016 with more locations to follow.
Starbucks is the latest US brand to be coming to South Africa, following the announcement that a local consortium, KK Doughnuts SA, would be bringing Krispy Kream doughnuts into the country. Other US companies that have moved into the South African market includes Wal-Mart. Global brands are increasingly entering the African market to take advantage of the continent's growing middle class.
