A 17-year-old Dutch girl has been confirmed dead in the northern region of Cantabria, Spain, after she bungee jumped and landed on a dry river bed. Apparently, she was not fully secured when she jumped. The teen, who has not been publicly identified, fell 131 ft. (40 m) from a viaduct. She was part of a group who were camping in the town, which lies about 50km (31 miles) west of Santander. The bungee jump was organized by a company specializing in adventure sports.
This would be the second bungee jump death related incident in less than a month in Spain. 23-year-old British student Kleyo De Abreu died on 21 July when she reportedly hit the wall of a bridge in Lanjaron, near Granada, Southern Spain.
