According to CBS Boston, Slocomb and her boyfriend were found in a car near a food mart in Taunton, about 40 miles south of Boston with their child in the backseat. They were reportedly transported to a hospital where they were successfully treated with Narcan, a medication used to counter the effects of opioids -- especially in overdoses.
"They had purchased and injected the heroin while the child was in the car," Taunton Police Lt. Paul Roderick said.
The child was uninjured and said to be in the custody of his grandmother Lori Johnson, Slocomb’s mother. She was quoted saying:
"It's a tough situation. I don't wish this on anyone. My biggest fear is getting the phone call that my daughter has passed away. When I heard my grandson was in the car, it upset me even more," she said.
Its so sad to see kids being exposed to such at such a tender age!
