A taxi has reportedly crashed off a bridge and landed on a railway track before being hit by a train near Shaka’s head, KwaZulu-Natal.
IPSS medical rescue spokesperson Paul Herbst said the taxi was carrying 20 people when it crashed on to the railway track below. The train then smashed into the vehicle. "We found 15 dead. One person is critical and four have moderate injuries," he told News24. He said the remains of some people were still stuck in the wreckage with body parts strewn across the scene. However, no one was injured in the train.

  1. Sad. Note that 'taxi' in South Africa is a mini bus or shuttle sized vehicle rather than the popular sedans in the other parts of the world.
