Three men are on the run after tunneling out of the holding cells at the Bellair Police station in Durban on Sunday. Vusi Gumede, Bheki Nkosi and Siya Dlamini managed to dig a hole through the wall of their cell at the station which was large enough to crawl through. The discovery was made during a routine check on the detainees. According to the police, Gumede was arrested for murder, Nkosi was detained for possession of a firearm and Dlamini was arrested for possession of stolen property.
Police spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker said “A case of escaping from lawful custody has been opened at Bellair police station for investigation. These criminals are dangerous and we plead with the community not to try to apprehend them but contact the police as soon as possible,”
Guzman, the Mexican drug-lord also broke out of a maximum security prison last month, escaping in a tunnel built right under his cell.
