Drunk suspect tells police his ‘dog’ was behind the wheel after high-speed chase

Relifor Cooper claims his dog was behind the wheels during an high-speed chase
26-year-old Reliford Cooper who was accused of drink-driving and fleeing the scene of an accident told police his dog was actually the one behind the wheel! Cooper, who was allegedly over the limit when he led police on a high-speed chase in Florida on Wednesday,  drove his white sedan through a ditch and crashed into a house in Manatee County, police said.
He is then accused of fleeing the scene to a church toilet, where police caught up with him and arrested him. But the suspect then allegedly told police he had been wrongfully arrested - claiming his dog was the one driving.
"My dog was driving that car," he said, according to a police report obtained by WFTS-TV.
"I ran because I wanted to. You ain’t gonna find no drugs or guns on me."
Cooper was checked over at hospital before being charged with drunken driving, aggravated fleeing and leaving the scene of an accident, the Mirror reports.
