Amanda Fyfe, 31, from Hinckley, Leicestershire, was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which means her bones break easily and her growth has been restricted. When Amanda was born, doctors even warned her parents, Geoff and Diana Moore, that their newborn daughter may not survive even one night. To know that the now 2ft 8in mother of one would one day marry 6ft 1in man would have been a dream.
However, with the help of a wheelchair, Amanda now
lives a full life and even gave birth to the couple's son, Aidan, six years
ago. When Amanda and Steven were first introduced in 2007, at the
taxi rank where they both worked, it didn't seem likely that love was on the
cards. Amanda had been cautious about men, worried that her height would
stop her from finding the perfect partner. Despite becoming friends; the pair
didn't go on a date until two years later. However as they enjoyed nights out
together, their love quickly flourished.
Speaking to the Mirror, Amanda admitted that
she did initially worry about what people would make of their relationship.
She said: 'Some people looked at us, but we just
ignored them.'
Steven says the height issue doesn't matter and
that he's always thought that his wife was out of his league. The couple
say they enjoy a healthy sex life and when they first started sleeping
together, Steven quickly made Amanda feel at ease. After just a few months of
dating, Amanda discovered that she was pregnant despite being warned by doctors
that she was unlikely to ever be able to conceive. Terrified that Steven,
who was only 18 at the time, wouldn't want the child, she broke down. However,
Steven was hugely supportive and Amanda quickly realised he was 'The One.'
Following specialist care during her pregnancy and
a carefully controlled birth, Aidan, now six, was born without complications
and is already taller than his mum at 3ft 2in.
Although Amanda's mother Diana died of kidney
failure in 2009, her memory was preserved in a special brooch with her photo on
it, something that Amanda's father Geoff placed on the seat next to him at the
wedding.

When the newlyweds shared their first dance at
their reception in Oakham, Rutland in July, groom Steven carried her on to the
dancefloor while 75 friends and family watched as they whirled around to their
favourite song Heaven by DJ Sammy.
Although Steven and Amanda would love another child
and Amanda has been in good health in recent years, a sibling for Aidan would
be 'risky'.
Amanda explained: 'We're looking at other options
and we're considering adoption, as we'd love to give Aidan a brother or a
sister. We have so much love to give as a family.'
