Pics: The Øresund, the amazing underwater bridge!

You may wonder what is so special about The Øresund bridge, such that it has taken the internet by storm in the past couple of days but yes, the unique roadway, which connects the Danish capital of Copenhagen to the Swedish city of Malmö, is indeed an engineering marvel.
The Øresund, designed by the Danish architect George K.S. Rotne, was opened on July 1, 2000. The bridge stretches about 8km before transitioning through an artificial island into a 4km tunnel under the Flint Channel. So yes, part of the bridge is an underwater tunnel!
