Pics: Deep freeze as water main bursts in Pennsylvania

These captivating images show how homes, trees, sidewalks and even street signs in Pennsylvania were entombed in ice today after a water main burst in freezing temperatures. Water sprayed up to 20ft in the air after the main burst overnight in the town of Scranton, with residents saying they awoke to several inches of ice and slush covering the street and leaking into their basements. The jet of water was high enough that even power lines criss-crossing above the road were left with strings of icicles dangling from them. With temperature at 10F, it was indeed a deep freeze.
