Watch how shopkeepers are caught blowing up raw chickens with their mouths to make them seem more plump

Disgusting footage has allegedly captured shopkeepers inflating raw chickens with their mouths in a bid to make them seem more plump. The footage is reported to have been filmed in La Victoria, Venezuela, and claims to show men working in factories and on market stalls blowing air into the meat. By breathing into the chickens, the sellers are able to increase the weight of the meat, and therefore increase the price . According to the video, the vendors take the chicken by the neck and blow into the mouth for several seconds. They then seal off the hole to prevent any air from escaping.
There are now concerns that as well as ripping the public off, the practise of inflating chickens could spread disease. It's claimed that chickens supposedly weighs 2kg on the market stall can decrease to 1.5kg when 'deflated' at home, according to La Republica. The newspaper reported that similar instances were discovered two years and reported to police. Market stalls carrying out food alterations were shut down, but this video seems to suggest that the scam has re-started.
