Female police officer dresses as man and robs bank

36-year-old Jennifer Rae McClary

A female police officer dressed herself as a man and robbed a bank, according to police in California. Danville police said that they have arrested 36-year-old Jennifer Rae McClary, after being accused of being the female bearded bank robber. According to Police Chief Steve Simpkins, at approximately 9:10 a.m., the suspect, later identified as McClary of Danville, entered the branch office at 307 Diablo Road. McClary then reportedly handed the teller a note, demanding money. No weapon was displayed during the crime. McClary fled the bank on foot and was last seen near the intersection of W. El Pintado Road and Diablo Road. She painted a beard on her chin to make herself appear as a man.
An investigation of the incident by Danville Police detectives led to McClary’s arrest. She was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on charges of robbery and possession of a controlled substance.  Her bail has been set at $100,000.
Placentia Police Department Sgt. Bryce Angel announced that McClary was fired from her job because she failed to meet probationary standards.
