The parents of a young girl caused the death of their child by bathing her in extremely hot water, according to police in Australia. Brisbane police said that they have arrested 30-year-old Shane Stokes and 23-year-old Nicole Moore, after scalding their 2-year-old daughter, Maddilyn-Rose Stokes, in extremely hot water, and failing to call for help. Both parents have been charged with murder and torture. According to the police investigation, the parents and the 2-year-old girl lived in an apartment on Ridge Street. One day last month, the parents gave Maddilyn-Rose a bath in hot water. Maddilyn-Rose suffered burns on her back, buttocks and legs. For days, the parents did nothing to help their screaming daughter. After finding the girl unconscious, the parents took Maddilyn-Rose to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital, where she died as a result of a heart attack.
