Passenger is arrested after 'trying to open a plane door during Wizz Air flight from Poland to Luton'


A man has been arrested at Luton Airport after allegedly trying to open a plane door during a Wizz Air flight from Poland. Police were called just before 11pm Saturday to reports of a 'disruptive passenger' and a man was arrested on suspicion of endangering an aircraft. Bedfordshire Police said he was initially taken to hospital and is now being questioned. The force said in a statement: 'Officers attended London Luton Airport shortly before 11pm on Saturday to reports of a disruptive passenger who had been restrained by crew on a flight in from Poland.
'One man was arrested on suspicion of endangering an aircraft.
'He was initially taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries and is currently in custody.'
The airline said in a statement: 'On Wizz Air flight W6 1005 from Katowice to London Luton on 22 July a passenger is reported to have become unruly and abusive.
'The WIZZ crew on duty followed standard procedures to ensure the continued safe operation of the flight.
'Upon landing, the passenger was handed over to the respective authorities.
'Safety and security are the top priorities of the airline and there is zero tolerance for abusive behavior towards our passengers and staff. This is now a matter for the police.'
