The actress/singer just took to Instagram to tell us of the struggle behind her smile. She revealed that she had a kidney transplant this summer to help her battle Lupus. For this reason, she hasn't been able to promote her new music. She went on to reveal that it was her friend who donated the kidney. The 25-year-old star shared a photo of her and the friend on their hospital beds, smiling and staring into each other's eyes. She also shared a photo of her scar, resulting from the surgery, as she thanked family and friends for being there for her during her moment of ill health.
Her admission comes after reports recently revealed Selena has moved in with her boyfriend The Weeknd. The Canadian singer has also been by her side all summer as she battled the disease.
