Pet owner mows down and kills driver who fatally shot his dog and stole carcass


A pet owner has been convicted of manslaughter for killing a man who killed his dog. The crime occurred in Yangzhou, China, when Mr. Fan, 40, the owner of the dog, heard his pet in distress. He ran out of his home and saw that a man had shot his dog with a poisonous dart. While the dog was dying, the suspect stole it. When Fan tried to confront the dog hunter, the suspect warned him to stay away.
He threatened to shoot Fan with a dart in order to kill him too. As the thief drove away with a motorcycle, Fan jumped into his truck and hit the bike. Surveillance video from a nearby gas station shows the truck driving at full speed, hitting the thief before crashing into a store.
The dog thief who was identified as 42-year-old Luo was pronounced dead at the scene. Police found 6 dead dogs inside the car. Some of the carcasses were stuffed in black bags. Fan was found guilty of reckless driving and manslaughter. He was sentenced to three years in prison all of which were suspended.
