Man drowns ducklings that got into his pool

A man who got annoyed that ducklings got into his pool decided to kill them to get rid of the birds once and for all. 79-year-old Robert Block of Naples, Florida, was charged with five counts of felony cruelty to animals. According to police, a witness called the Collier County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line to report the incident.
The witness, who is a neighbor, confronted Block after hearing the birds “screaming.”
“The mama duck was out there just screaming and the babies were squealing. It was so horrible,” the neighbor said.
Officers found the “freshly deceased ducklings” near Block’s pool.
Block told investigators that “he was frustrated with wildlife such as rats, rabbits, and ducks getting into his pool.”
The elderly man called the animals a nuisance and said that he was “actively looking for ways to remove them from his property,” police said.
