Knife wielding man shot dead after killing a policewoman and injuring five other officers during an attack inside Paris police headquarters


A knifeman has been shot shot dead after attacking officers in the Paris police headquarters on Thursday, October 3rd. According to French media, a female officer was killed and as many as five others injured in the attack in the historical centre of Paris. The report suggested it may have been a civilian worker at the headquarters who carried out the attack.
 The attack took place near the Notre Dame on the Ile de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of the French capital. The premises has since been cordoned off and emergency services were quickly at the scene. 
 The metro station of Cité, near the headquarters of the Paris Police, has now been shut down and French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner is reportedly heading to the scene.
