After Recovering From COVID-19, Actor Tom Hanks Donates Plasma For Patients
Here’s last week’s bag of plasma. Such a bag!’ wrote actor Tom Hanks, who donated his plasma to help those battling COVID-19, after recently recovering from the deadly virus himself.
On March 12, the actor had announced that he and his wife were visiting Australia where they ‘felt tired, had cold and body aches’ and tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The couple was then isolated and kept under observation at the Queensland Hospital, from where they were eventually released.
And now, the actor has revealed on social media that he donated blood plasma at a Los Angeles hospital to help in the ailment of those who are currently battling the virus. Plasma Therapy, as it’s being spoken about, is proving to be beneficial in managing serious cases of COVID-19.
In fact, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, in collaboration with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is planning to begin trials for the therapy as a cure to the novel coronavirus, once all required permissions are obtained.
