Melting car captured by British tourist |
John Westbrook,48, a taxi driver from Folkestone, Kent, couldn’t help but be in awe when he saw a Renault Megane which was parked in the blistering sun in Caorle, melting. The car, which had been parked opposite the beach for days couldn’t withstand the temperature that has hit the coastal town in northern Italy. The British tourist was able to capture the moment on camera as the lights, wing mirrors and window fittings melts off the car.

John took the photos while on a two week break with his wife Joanne, 45, and son Robbie, 21. He said temperatures have hovered around the high 90s since they arrived over the weekend, forcing them to spend most of the daytime indoors.
'As soon as you walk out of the hotel it's like walking into an oven,' said John.

According to data from the environmental agency, record temperatures have left about 140 pensioners dead in just the first ten days of July this year and tourists have been warned to take precautions against the heat.
