Father keeps dead daughter’s decomposed body in crib for over a month

Eric Warfel, the 34-year-old father of Ember Warfel, 21-months, has been charged for keeping the decomposed body of Ember in his apartment in Medina, Ohio for over a month.
The body was discovered by a repairman who was installing wiring in the apartment while Warfel was away and it is believed she has been dead for several weeks. In an attempt to mask the smell of the decomposing body, Warfel had reportedly filled his daughter’s room with trash. The body was said to be in such a bad condition, it could not be determined at first if the child was a boy or a girl.
Warfel also had a five-month-old child who suddenly died in 2013 and police reported finding evidence of heroin use at his apartment.

Warfel has since been indicted for corpse abuse and is being held on  $1 million bail as an autopsy is underway.
