Son beats father to death for walking into bathroom while his girlfriend was taking bath

A son was furious when his father violated his girlfriend's privacy by walking into the bathroom while she was taking a bath.  Attorneys for 31-year-old Daniel Rak of Canada, tried to get the murder charge dismissed, saying that the father was an alcoholic who often suffered seizures.  The attorneys claimed that 58-year-old Jeffrey Rak, died while having a seizure and not from the beating he suffered from his son.
However, the judge denied the request and a jury is now being selected for trial on a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated domestic battery.  According to court records, Daniel’s girlfriend, who lives at the home with his parents, was taking a bath in the home in Burlington, Ontario.  While she was in the bath, her boyfriend's father walked in. When Daniel learned about the incident, he became enraged and allegedly struck his father in the face several times.  The father was found unresponsive, with injuries to his head and face. A coroner ruled that Jeffrey's death was from blunt force trauma to the head. Daniel is being held in the Kane County Jail, on $950,000 bond. He faces 20 to 60 years in prison.
