Couple accused of sexually molesting relative for 5 years

Rob Johnson, 44, and his wife Marie Johnson, 43, were arrested on Tuesday after the abused woman came forward to police. According o the police, the relative during this period was molested, beaten and kept away from the outside world until she was an adult.
Apparently, the victim moved from Colorado into the Johnson’s home when she was 13  after her mother died. The abuse was said to have started within days of settling into her new home. The crazed couple told the girl she had to have sex with them to be accepted into their family, police said. Over the next five years, Marie allegedly beat the girl if she refused their sexual demands, and Rob (a cousin to her dead mother) insisted she called him “master.". He also gave her a ring claiming she belongs to him, CBS12 reported. The girl was home-schooled and brainwashed with Old Testament passages that he said justified the treatment she received. The girl was not allowed to use the phone and was given lines to rehearse if doctors ever asked about her sex life.
According to the girl, the couple had sex with her twice a week until she turned 18. She finally escaped the ordeal when her grandmother bought her a plane ticket to Ohio. The woman is now 21 and living in Indiana, struggling with depression and anxiety. She said she decided to tell police the abuse allegations after talking to other sexual assault survivors.
“This is one of the most heinous crimes we've seen sexually in a long time,” Port St. Lucie Detective Daniel Herrington said in a Wednesday press conference.
They were charged with felony sexual assault, and each was freed on $60,000 bail Wednesday morning.
